这种带柔性、轻质尖端的热电偶（TE）温度探头，适合于空气的温度测量以及液体和膏状介质的测量，特别是小体积的介质如培养皿。此外，它还可以执行表面温度的测量，例如将温度探头用胶带固定在测定点。

由于非常薄的尖端，其直径为0.25mm，这个温度探头的响应时间非常短，只有1秒。因此，它可以在非常短的时间检测到温度峰值，也适合于空气的温度测量。

该温度探头可以检测非常低和非常高的温度：-40~+1000 °C，配有一根椭圆形（2.2mm×1.4mm）长为2米的FEP绝缘热导线。绝缘热线可以通过很小的开口，如通过门缝或冰箱密封。它可耐高温达+200 °C。

这种K型热电偶和1级探头（量程为-40~+1000 °C）拥有的标准精度为 ±1.5 °C或0.004 x I t I（取较大值）。也就是说，在温度为 +500 °C时该探头的精度为±2 °C（因为0.004X500℃ =2 °C）。
